Poole dives into Associate role at Carr

Carr has announced the promotion of Stephanie Poole, which will see the architect move into an Associate position. With a career spanning 10 years, Poole has been key to the development of the business direction in larger scale multi-residential and boutique-commercial sectors.

Carr’s Managing Director, Chris McCue says the promotion of Poole has been done in an effort to expand the leadership team’s perspectives.

“We're excited to broaden the leadership team and representation in architecture with the appointment of Stephanie Poole as Associate.”

Starting as an architectural graduate at Carr in 2012, Poole moved abroad in 2014 to pursue experience in Zurich and London, before returning to Carr in 2018. A well-rounded individual who continually offers a highly considered approach to design, Poole holds a high level of end-to-end experience, ensuring a concept is carried through to the final design outcome.

Previously working on projects such as Frame House and Gippsland Spa, Stephanie is currently leading Brunswick Yard, which starts on site later this year. The project fuses architecture, interiors, landscape and streetscape into a contemporary multi-residential offer comprising 122 apartments. The architect recently delivered the project’s highly engaging display suite that offers a compelling alternative to the traditional model of selling apartments.

Poole says her detailed approach is driven by the desire to deliver high end projects within any sector.

“I believe that a rigorous approach to design creates spaces and buildings that are considered, cohesive, nuanced and inherently enduring”, she says.

“Fundamental to my approach to design is a sense of awareness, curiosity and questioning.”

“Stephanie’s strategic thinking in Carr’s design vision has been highly valued and we welcome her further leadership in practice administration and quality assurance accreditation, as well as works on key cultural, bespoke residential and gallery projects,” adds McCue.

The appointment comes as Carr continues to celebrate five decades since Sue Carr opened her first interior design practice in Melbourne.
