Custom and ready-to-wear carpets impress at Dandenong RSL renovation

Signature Floors collaborated with BSPN Architecture to design and supply custom and ready-to-wear carpets for a recent renovation project at the Dandenong RSL.

The brief for the Dandenong RSL project was to design a custom woven carpet inspired by overlapping geometric lines and fragmented shapes.

“BSPN provided us with an overall interiors concept that had all the intended finishes and look-and-feel for the refurbishment. They also supplied inspiration images for the carpet,” Vesna Mallia, textile designer at Signature Studio said.

The large-scale placement design in the vibrant café and gaming area boasts a warm and inviting palette. The custom carpet also incorporates highlight tones of teal and green as well as gold highlights to match the blond-coloured timbers.

“There were other areas at the venue that weren’t renovated, like the bistro. That’s where we’ve cleverly used a recoloured ready-to-wear Axminster carpet design to give the space a quick update. The choice of pattern and colour also ties seamlessly with the custom flooring in the café and gaming area. I am pleased with the outcome,” Mallia added.
