Green Roof Technologies installs green roof system at Aramsa Garden Spa in Singapore

Green Roof Technologies has supplied VersiCell and VersiDrain green roof products for the Aramsa Garden Spa project in Bishan Park, Singapore.

The task was to create an extensive green roof on a sloped metal roof so that it will blend well into the natural ambience of the park as well as provide thermal insulation and minimise noise transference during periods of heavy rainfall.

To begin with, aluminium battens were anchored on to the metal sloping roof, preventing plant media movement. VersiCell drainage modules were then placed between the metal ribs, offering a level surface for the installation of VersiDrain 25P drainage and water retention trays.

A geotextile filter fabric was placed over the VersiDrain 25P drainage and retention trays while EnviroMix GR, a lightweight inorganic planting media, was placed on the filter fabric.

Locally sourced and low maintenance plant species were used for their robustness, colour, height and ability to tolerate high levels of tropical rainfall as well as hot and dry spells.
