The process of acid etching uses acids to cut into the unprotected surface of metal surfaces. This same process can also be used on glass sheets.

Signs made from stainless steel, brass, aluminium and copper, as well as glass, can be etched with intricate pictures and patterns. This makes the acid etching process the perfect solution for small type, photographic and fine line drawings.

Acid etched signs are robust and long lasting because the image is actually embedded on the surface of the metal or glass, making them ideal for external as well as internal applications.

The acid etching of metal and glass signs is ideal for displaying schematic diagrams, interpretive and heritage signs, and architectural signs as well as corporate identity signage.

More information on the acid etching process and applications is available from Insign Graphics.
