Polytec products add colour and durability to ‘moody kitchen’ design in Sydney apartment

Nestled in Cremorne, Sydney, this remarkable sub-penthouse has undergone a stunning transformation. Thanks to the vision of Team2 Architects, it now boasts a design that marries exquisite aesthetics with exceptional functionality. With sweeping harbour views and luxurious details, this renovation sets a new benchmark in modern living.

Bianca Karcher, interior designer at Team2 Architects, explains they were approached by their client to create a moody kitchen. “We wanted to use a clean and concise palette with a dark timber throughout,” she said.

A beautiful mix of materials and textures was used with polytec's thermolaminated Sussex door profile in Bottega Oak Woodmatt being the hero colour. Light feature cabinets in Oyster Grey Smooth create contrast, forming a sleek, cohesive palette that feels both modern and timeless.

The black aluminium doors with fluted glass inserts introduce a subtle play of light and texture, adding visual interest. The island bench stands out with polytec’s Steccawood battens in Empire Oak Woodmatt constructed in a soft curve, adding a sculptural element.
