Promat fire collars provide firestopping at Brisbane’s Abian Botanic Gardens

A range of fire collars from Promat Australia was specified for a luxury apartment tower near the heritage listed City Botanic Gardens in Brisbane.

Designed by Woods Marsh Architects for the Sunland Group, Abian Botanic Gardens is a 41-storey tower rising above the botanic gardens and comprising 150 luxury apartments.

Completed in mid-2017, the $240-million tower makes extensive use of the Promat fire collar range including 2000+ PROMASEAL Green and Hi-Blu cast in collars and over 1800 PROMASEAL retrofit collars.

The PROMASEAL cast in fire collars were used for all plastic pipe stack applications while the PROMASEAL retrofit fire collars were used on potable waterlines, as well as DWV and stormwater applications. Additional fire collars were also used to protect some of the HVAC and other services.
