ABB announces the acquisition of Sevensense Robotics, a global leader in vision and AI navigation.

With this acquisition, ABB takes another significant step towards their vision of a workplace where AI-enabled robots work with humans.

Imagine a fleet of mobile robots, equipped with 3D vision systems and AI, moving freely to wherever they’re needed in a factory or warehouse. With each robot capable of scanning a unique part of the building, together they can form a complete map, enabling them to work autonomously in a rapidly changing environment, continually updating and sharing maps to work independently across a busy factory floor.

With Sevensense's VSLAM technology, we can deliver this level of intelligent flexibility in the workplace today.

We’re at the forefront of this change for industry as the first robotics company to integrate this technology into our portfolio. With software and AI at the core of our offering, robots can take on more tasks, bridge more skills gaps, and open possibilities for new and existing industries to benefit from automation. AI-enabled technologies will drive greater productivity, improve access to technology, and allow people to concentrate on more fulfilling, impactful jobs.
