A return to origins: artedomus launches new Perth showroom
Artedomus has opened a new showroom in Perth, returning to its roots. This immersive space combines a showroom and warehouse, offering local architects and designers inspiration, material selection, and collaboration, while showcasing premium international and Australian design brands.
Artedomus has officially opened the doors to its new Perth showroom, marking a significant return to where the brand’s story began. Located in Bayswater, this new destination combines a showroom and warehouse facility, offering Western Australia’s design community a hands-on destination for inspiration, material selection and collaboration.
Founded in Perth in 1982, Artedomus has long maintained a presence in the region. This latest move strengthens the brand’s investment in Western Australia and deepens its connection with the local architectural and design community.
“We are incredibly excited to expand our presence here with a dedicated showroom and warehouse destination that showcases our products, gives our Perth community access to our full range of national stock, and inspires and connects local architects and designers,” says Phil Brenton, Managing Director of Artedomus. “The Perth showroom is our love letter to the beauty and thriving design community of the West.”
True to the Artedomus philosophy, the Perth showroom offers more than a retail experience. It takes architects and designers on an immersive journey, where curated living vignettes model real-world applications of the brand’s products. Unlike the urban tones of Melbourne, the elegance of Sydney, or the tropical modernism of Brisbane, the Perth showroom is grounded in the colours and textures of its locale.
“We’ve referenced the raw natural beauty of our Western Australian surrounds,” reflects Thomas Coward, Creative Director at Artedomus. “Through this earthy palette of materials and furnishings, the showroom pays homage to WA’s rugged landscape, with tonal highlights of ochre, terracotta, burgundy and burnt red.”
Upon arrival, visitors are greeted by a striking reception desk clad in Japanese INAX mosaics. The monolithic desk’s layered, geometric form is a tribute to the modularity and crisp detailing for which INAX is known. From here, visitors are drawn upstairs into a light-filled space where a series of interconnected living vignettes wrap around the showroom’s perimeter. These displays showcase Artedomus’ key brands and product offerings, all styled to inspire new material narratives.
Italian tile brand Decoratori Bassanesi brings sophisticated design collaborations and artisanal flair to the space. Agape, the revered Italian bathware brand exclusive to Artedomus in Australia, adds sculptural elegance. New Volumes, Artedomus’ own collection of furniture, lighting, and accessories, blends material experimentation with contemporary Australian design. These sit alongside a comprehensive selection of Italian natural stones, Italian-made porcelain, and handcrafted Japanese tiles.
The journey culminates in the showroom’s working kitchen and sample zone, where designers can build tactile mood boards from an extensive material library. The benchtop and integrated cabinetry are finished with 12mm Maximum Viola porcelain slabs, whose bold red veining references the rich tones of marble. Above the bench, the splashback is clad in shimmering Vixel mosaics, adding texture and depth. Adjacent to this, the hospitality zone is anchored by an Agapecasa Eros table, originally designed by Angelo Mangiarotti and crafted in Carrara marble – offers a place to pause, gather and reflect, reinforcing Artedomus’ commitment to fostering warm, collaborative spaces for the design community.
Artedomus’ newest destination reaffirms the brand’s ongoing commitment to supporting and inspiring Australia’s architecture and design community. It invites visitors to experience the sensory beauty of craftsmanship and materials firsthand.
