GH Commercial collaborated with Astina Group to realise the developer’s vision for a new serviced apartment hotel project in Penrith, NSW.

Five years in the making, Astina Suites Penrith is an extension of the family-owned Astina Group’s serviced apartments where the promise of affordable luxury is delivered in the form of 5-star properties with first-class finishes and amenities. A project close to the hearts of Astina Group directors William and Thomas Schrumpf, Astina Suites Penrith offers 58 two- and three-bedroom suites, rooftop pool, bar, gym and function centre, as well as a ground floor wine bar, dining, retail and commercial offices, encouraging a vibrant hub of day and night activity, right in the heart of the CBD.

The GH Commercial design team worked closely with Astina Group to ensure their clear vision for the project was realised. For the guest bedrooms, Feltex Spinifex, a 100% flecked wool broadloom carpet was chosen for its underfoot softness and durability. Classically neutral Sand Storm created the perfect backdrop for bold cobalt and bronze furnishings.

For the streamlined kitchen and living areas in each suite, Apollo Hardwood in Spotted Gum Natural gives the warmth and textural appeal of timber combined with hybrid flooring technology that delivers an easy-clean, waterproof and impact resistant surface.

GH Commercial's world-class Designer Jet technology comes into play with a 1.96m wide carpet designed and created to the specifications of Astina family executive, Joanna Schrumpf. After scouring a host of interior style sources, she chose a complex design that was not available as a readymade carpet option. This free form central image, wrought in creams and golds, bleeds into a striated border of contrast charcoal to form an eye-catching pathway.

The statement carpet trend continued with a dense floral design used to enhance the meeting room spaces. Featuring a repeat pattern of stylised flowers in varying blues, bronze and a subtle touch of pink, this Designer Jet 17oz cut pile sheet is a thing of beauty.

At the forefront of custom carpet creation, Designer Jet products, produced using near limitless colours and designs, can be turned around in as little as three weeks (subject to the complexity and size of the project). Available in tiles, planks and sheet, with 1.96m wide carpet rolls particularly suited to hallways and corridors, they are easy to install, with less potential wastage than traditional broadloom carpet. Stain resistant and independently rated contract heavy or extra heavy duty under the Australian Carpet Classification Scheme, all Designer Jet carpets are officially Declare Red List Free.

Bespoke handmade rugs

A series of spectacular hand-tufted wool blend rugs were created for the foyer area. Incorporating the signature palette of cream, gold, pink and charcoal, the runner designs featured abstract shapes and spatters overlaid by deconstructed traditional motifs, with a central circular rug breaking up the space.

Handcrafted from a choice of materials such as wool, silk, viscose, and cotton, these custom rugs are available in a large range of surface options for beautifully tactile, premium quality floor furnishings.

The GH Commercial team, aided by the amazing Designer Jet carpet printing technology, is incredibly proud to contribute to the creative vision and bold style of this outstanding Astina Group project.
