Galvin Engineering announces the launch of its state-of-the-art Experience Centre in Abbotsford, Victoria – a purpose-built, interactive space designed to showcase innovative bathroom solutions tailored for aged care, healthcare, mental health, and child care environments.

Bringing together form, function, and empathy, the Experience Centre bridges the gap between product design and real-world care challenges. It offers architects, designers, facility managers, caregivers and other industry professionals the opportunity to see – and feel – how thoughtful, inclusive design enhances accessibility, safety, and dignity.

Design through a different lens

At the heart of the centre is an immersive simulation environment, where visitors can experience the world through the eyes of those living with impairment. The centre has staged settings tailored towards high care and high risk environments and using the centre's specialised aging suits, vision impaired glasses and props, participants can gain a deeper understanding of how design decisions directly impact everyday life in care settings.

This hands-on experience allows visitors to:

Walk in the user’s shoes: Understand the daily challenges faced by people with different physical and cognitive needs.

Engage with real solutions: Explore Galvin Engineering’s latest bathroom fixtures designed for ease of use, safety, and long-term durability.

Discover best practice design: Learn how ergonomic layouts, product placement, and adaptive technology can enhance independence and comfort.

Experience anti-ligature innovations: See how discreet, purpose-designed products support safety in mental health settings without compromising aesthetics.

Champion dignity through design: Explore how good design can support autonomy, reduce carer load, and promote wellbeing for all users.

A new benchmark for care design

“At Galvin Engineering, we believe that safety and aesthetics should go hand in hand,” said Tim Galvin, 4th generation owner. “The Experience Centre is more than a product showroom – it’s a platform to challenge convention and demonstrate how high risk and high care environments can be functional, beautiful and dignified. Our mission is to create Water Solutions for a Healthier Environment, and that begins with design that empowers.”

Now open to industry

The Galvin Experience Centre is now open to visitors and available by appointment. Whether you’re planning a new facility or refurbishing an existing space, the Experience Centre provides inspiration, education, and a practical guide to elevating design standards in the care sector.
