Karndean is proud to be one of the founding members of ResiLoop, Australia's pioneering national stewardship scheme for resilient flooring.
A resilient flooring revolution
With a history of pushing the boundaries of design and introducing revolutionary products, the resilient flooring industry has evolved significantly. LVT flooring, with its striking aesthetics and performance, has taken the market by storm. ResiLoop is a groundbreaking initiative led by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association (ARFA) and supported by the Australian Government. This scheme is at the forefront of research and development, designed to address the environmental challenges posed by resilient floor coverings. Australians now embrace this versatile flooring option, consuming over 22 million square metres or 95,000 tonnes annually. While the industry grows, it's vital to ensure that we're not only meeting design and functionality expectations but also embracing sustainability.
Karndean ANZ’s Managing Director and ARFA President, Dan Lovell said, “We are pleased to announce that all of ARFA’s members, representing 60 percent of market sales nationally, have agreed to provide financial contributions proportionate to their sales to support this ongoing work.”
Sustainable LVT: Meeting the social license to operate
At Karndean, we believe that a resilient industry should meet its social license to operate. This means we support securing the long-term approval of customers, supply chain partners, government authorities, and the public. We recognise that sustainability isn't an option but a necessity in today's world. It's time to focus on more than just product aesthetics; it's time to commit to sustainability.
Karndean and the circular economy
We're proud to announce our further commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility through our involvement with ResiLoop Limited. ResiLoop is Australia's first national stewardship scheme for resilient flooring, initiated by the Australian Resilient Flooring Association (ARFA) and backed by the Australian Government. As a founding member of ResiLoop Limited, we are investing not only in innovation but also in sustainability and the circular economy.
The circular economy: A new era
Embracing the circular economy for LVT flooring means that we're not just sourcing materials or refining manufacturing processes. It means designing products for long service life, repairability, reusability, and recyclability. This approach aims to eliminate waste and reduce the environmental footprint.
