Architectural modular buildings enhance tech-driven agricultural curriculum with minimal disruption to school operations
By preparing the installation site concurrently with the off-site manufacture of building modules, ATCO significantly reduced construction time and impact on the school's existing infrastructure. The modular buildings were installed over just two days, showcasing ATCO's capability to deliver complex educational environments within budget and on schedule.
ATCO has successfully completed the design and installation of the new Agricultural Learning Precinct at Saint Ignatius College Riverview in Sydney. The precinct features architecturally inspired modular buildings that facilitate the addition of tech-driven greenhouse management skills to the school's curriculum.

The state-of-the-art facility comprises two purpose-built modular structures that house junior and senior classrooms, laboratory facilities with fully integrated HVAC systems, and a specialised greenhouse featuring automated louvre windows and a thermostatically controlled exhaust system.

The buildings feature a fully integrated, multi-head cassette HVAC system installed on-site in each building. Coloured FC external cladding provides architectural features that ensure the new structures blend seamlessly with the college's existing infrastructure.
Throughout the project, ATCO collaborated closely with the school's civil company, service contractors, and local traffic management to plan delivery, prepare the site, and install the buildings amongst existing infrastructure. Extensive coordination ensured correct and adequate draw wire provisions for installing security, AV, fire, and communications/data services after the modules were installed.

By preparing the installation site concurrently with the off-site manufacture of building modules, ATCO significantly reduced construction time and impact on the school grounds, existing infrastructure, and vegetation. The modular buildings were installed over just two days, within budget and on schedule, despite challenges including tight road access and uneven terrain.

This project demonstrates ATCO's expertise in delivering complex educational facilities with minimal disruption to school operations, while providing Saint Ignatius College Riverview with a cutting-edge learning environment that enhances their agricultural education program.
