Polytec products help transform 100-year-old Mayfield warehouse into a stunning home

Located in the heart of Mayfield, a forgotten nearly 100-year-old warehouse has been transformed into a vibrant home and creative space with unique character.

Hipwell Haus by interior stylist Tim Neve pays homage to the building’s rich history while embracing modern design elements. It speaks bold design with beautiful textures, creating a perfect blend of the old and new. 

This home takes a mix of the existing industrial features from the building, which meant retaining the open-plan layout downstairs, preserving the exposed brick, and carefully selecting materials that pay tribute to the building’s heritage while seamlessly incorporating contemporary elements. It’s giving nothing but personality with its evocative colour scheme and use of textured materials.

Tim Neve approached this renovation with deep appreciation for the building’s past, carefully curating materials that honour its heritage while seamlessly introducing modern elements. This philosophy is evident throughout Hipwell Haus, particularly in the kitchen – a space that blends industrial charm with contemporary elegance.

Among the many standout features of this remarkable renovation is the cabinetry, showcasing polytec’s Rojo Walnut Woodmatt decorative board, achieving the rich, textured aesthetic that defines the home. Rojo Walnut not only adds warmth and depth to this inviting space but also complements the industrial elements of the design. 

To elevate the kitchen even further, Copper Leaf Matt laminate has been used for the kickboards. It’s a small but impactful detail that brings a touch of luxe sophistication to the space. The laminate pairs well with the warm bronze handles and copper range of appliances used, delivering an overall warm and inviting space. 

All these beautiful elements are set on a lime wash painted backdrop, creating a natural, almost earthy feel. There is a strong use of subtle curves throughout such as shelving, integrated bench seating, stools and more, which create a sense of movement as you walk through the home. 

Through Hipwell Haus, Tim Neve has created a space that is full of personality, uniqueness, and rich in history. The incorporation of polytec’s Rojo Walnut Woodmatt and Copper Leaf Matt were paramount materials to bringing this transformation to fruition.
