The green light has been given for construction to begin in the next few weeks on a $450 million office building development at 567 Collins Street in Melbourne.
The building is being developed by Leighton Properties which enlisted Spowers Architects and Cox Architects for the design of the 50,000 square metre flexible space.
The building has been given a 4.5-star Australian Building Greenhouse Rating and a 5-star Green Rating design under the Green Building Council of Australia's environmental rating scheme.
It will be largely column free and will combine campus style accommodation on lower levels with large open floor plates on mid and high-rise levels.
A four level street veranda extends the full length of the Collins Street frontage and services offered will include standard-setting lift capacity, a 100 per cent fresh air under-floor air distribution system, 100 per cent standby power generation and energy efficient lighting.
Building management systems will be provided along with amenities including childcare, showers, change rooms and lockers, bike parking, retail, food outlets and landscaped courtyards.
Cox Architects said: "The 567 design team has created a response to a commercial brief that is tailored to the needs of business."
