Public voting has opened for the 2016 Architizer A+ Awards, with Australia being represented by a modest number of shortlisted projects from architects such as Tzannes, Matt Gibson A+D, NH and Archiblox.
Now in its fourth year, the A+ Awards claims to be the largest awards program that focuses on promoting and celebrating the year’s best architecture and products. It is a global architectural and product awards program with both a public vote and judged element via a jury consisting of over 300 architects, cultural leaders and media personnel including representatives from BIG, Kohn Pedersen Fox, MVRDV, Foster + Partners, Olson Kundig Architects, and model/entrepreneur Elle Macpherson.
There are three main categories in the awards – The Typology Categories celebrate traditional building types, while the Plus Categories recognise the link between global issues and the structures that society builds. The Product Categories acknowledge the symbiosis between products and building and range from façade building products to decorative lighting and furniture.
Here are some of the Australian finalists in the Typology category. Click HERE for the full shortlist and to vote. Voting ends April 1, 2016. Winners will be announced April 12, 2016:
