International multi-disciplinary consultancy Cundall announces the appointment of Patrick Carpenter to lead their Australian acoustics department out of Melbourne.
Delivering acoustics solutions worldwide since 2010, Cundall established an Australian presence in 2014 with a Sydney office. Following a number of confirmed appointments in Melbourne, Cundall hired Carpenter to deliver these projects as well as expand the business further throughout the region.
According to Cundall Director Garrit Schot, acoustic services complement their building services, engineering and sustainable design team offerings. The decision to appoint Carpenter in Melbourne was based on the increased interest from clients in this value added service.
A Bachelor of Applied Science (Physics) from RMIT in 2005, Carpenter has been involved in a large number of building projects of all sizes, specialising in design, specification and commissioning for room acoustics, sound insulation and building services systems. Carpenter also brings extensive experience in the environmental noise and planning field to his new role at Cundall.
Having worked with Cundall previously on a number of projects, Carpenter now looks forward to expanding the acoustics team and working alongside an innovative global acoustics team.
Cundall has won several industry awards for their innovative use of the Oculus Rift to create Cundall Virtual Acoustic Reality (VAR), enabling design teams to hear and see what it is like to be inside a building before it is built.
Andrew Parkin, Global head of Acoustics at Cundall also welcomed Patrick to the global acoustics team.
Cundall’s Australian acoustics team has been working for diverse clients including Stockland, Deakin University, Department of Education & Training and Defence Housing Australia. They are also working with a confidential global client in both Melbourne and Sydney as part of a wider Asia Pac contract for office fit-out design.
