Austral Bricks has used 5,000 decorative bricks in seven glazed colours to depict two opposing players contesting a ball, with the bricklaying exercise undertaken by Russell Tilley Bricklaying over 10 days.

The 100 sqm wall is located at Austral Bricks’ Victorian office at Craigieburn East at Craigieburn and will stand for three months.

The wall features Austral Bricks' Burlesque and Dynasty ranges of glazed bricks and is expected to be the first of many decorative walls for locals and car drivers.

Austral Bricks’ Victorian marketing manager, Richard West says the company "developed the mural as a tribute to one of the most significant games of AFL played every year between two clubs and they are delighted with the result. 'The Brick Art' mural demonstrates the versatility and contemporary nature of what can be achieved with bricks in unique and interesting murals for architects and designers."

The AFL mural follows the creation of the Barack Obama and Michael Jackson Tribute by Austral Bricks in Sydney over the last six months.

The glazed bricks used in the mural include red, white and black from both the Burlesque and Dynasty ranges.
