Prominent multi-disciplinary architectural practice, Architectus, have announced their expansion throughout Australia. This week, it was announced that they have moved into a new studio in Melbourne to accommodate the additional 23 staff that have joined the office in the past twelve months.
Architectus’ expansion comes off the back of the rapid growth of their Sydney office – which has seen a total of 32 new staff come on-board – over the past year.
“The quality of people joining our practice is critical to the success and growth we are currently experiencing,” says Ray Brown, Architectus’ managing director.
“Infrastructure and urban regeneration are particular areas of focus right now, with a number of city changing projects underway and in the pipeline.”
The past twelve months have seen Architectus win a total of 37 new projects – many of them major – across their Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide studios. Of particular note are the Sydney Metro project – a collaboration with the METRON consortia – and the Sydney Modern Project, a redevelopment of the Art Gallery of NSW to be undertaken in conjunction with Pritzker-winning Japanese firm, SANAA.
