Bates Smart has refreshed its brand to align with its “transformative thinking for future cities” mantra, at a time when the practice is looking to heighten its reputation and influence.

MAUD and Mucho oversaw the rebranding of the practice, which has coincided with its new website. The practice endeavours to encapsulate its expertise in citymaking, complemented by videography by SIRAP and photography by Gavin Green.

“I believe our new collateral will keep us at the forefront of the profession and reinforce our position of timeless design underpinned by critical thinking,” says Bates Smart Director, Philip Vivian.

A modernised typeface, a more sophisticated tonal palette of blue and grey and updated identity works balance ideas and projects that visually represent the company and resonate with our staff, clients and collaborations. The practice hopes its new identity will inspire its future developments.
