Bjarke Ingels spoke at an Australian Institute of Architects event in Sydney on Wednesday, taking the opportunity while in the country to explore the potential for future project collaborations with Hassell.
Originally from Denmark, Ingels has worked on numerous high profile urban development projects, which he spoke about in Sydney.
Ingels heads up the Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG), with which Hassell says it shares ‘common design values’ which would be an 'easy fit' and could make them a powerful team.
In 2011, the Wall Street Journal named Ingels the Innovator of the Year for architecture. This year, the same newspaper said he was 'rapidly becoming one of the design world's rising stars'.
