It was wonderful to hear the feedback from architects and designers at BPN’s Sustainability Awards, on the positive role this unique program is playing in recognising the whole life cycle impact of our buildings.

So it was interesting on the night to see not only the awards winners being praised, but the judges for so successfully elevating the sustainable design and building practices - taking into account not only the building materials and construction processes but going beyond to consider the performance and impact of the built environment on the wider world.

As was hoped, building products-wise, the sustainability awards have helped to bring a number of innovative new green innovations to the fore. As the judges point out in several projects, including the overall winner, new benchmarks have been set which will lead the way in the future.
