Boral Timber Flooring has introduced a new cover width and an improved profile to its 19 mm solid strip flooring portfolio.

Developed to replace the 80 mm cover width over the coming months, the 85 mm cover width means fewer boards are required to complete a project.

Providing a more cost-effective solution, it allows for faster installation and consistency across the full range of Boral Timber's 19 mm flooring.

Delivering more floor per board, the new cover width also allows for an improved supply of popular species while simultaneously supporting sustainable use.

The new cover size will still be compatible with Boral Timber’s secret fixing process.

In addition to the introduction of the new width, Boral Timber Flooring is improving the profile of all of its 19 mm solid strip boards, resulting in one consistent profile — BTF2 — and enabling architects and specifiers to use its flooring in a wider variety of design applications.

With multi-directional installation capability, the tongue fits into the groove both side-on and head-on, making it easier to achieve numerous designs. The profile also enables a random board width pattern to be achieved. Additionally, the thicker wear layer allows boards to be sanded multiple times.
