Amicus Interiors has completed a $585,000 fitout for financial consultancy firm Berkley Group at Level 17, Australia Square in the heart of Sydney's CBD.
Amicus Interiors designed and constructed the 500 square metre fitout, configuring the area around the building's rounded contours to create a workable space for Berkley Group's 30 employees.
"Australia Square is a striking office and retail complex offering expansive views over the city skyline and of Sydney Harbour. The fitout capitalises on this and provides generously proportioned light-filled areas, multi-functional work stations and an open-plan breakout space," said Andrew Holder, Managing Director of Amicus Interiors.
The fitout comprised the refurbishment of the reception area, a 16-person boardroom designed in a custom-made style to fit the circular perimeter of the building and two six-person meeting rooms.
Amicus Interiors created a contemporary breakout zone, sourcing and installing a range of high quality furnishings including laser-cut lampshades, a timber breakfast bar, flatscreen television and vinyl cladding, all offset by a bright green feature wall.
"The building's foyer features a vibrant artwork and we wanted to incorporate the lime green, orange and yellow hues throughout to add a fun and energetic element to the fitout," Mr Holder said.
Delivery of the project was challenging because of the building's unusual round shape with lift access located around the core and the Amicus team having to meticulously time access to the utilities and communications room.
Mr Holder said, "We received instructions at the eleventh hour from the building's managers asking us to not obstruct the access doors to the lifts."
"Our team had to do some frantic last minute design changes including the reprogramming of works . However, the project was completed on budget and within the six week timeframe," Mr Holder added.
