The Infinity Tower is a 262 metre high-rise that is the latest creation by Karimbla Constructions (a division of Mertion Apartments). Due for completion in 2014, it will be the largest residential tower in Brisbane, containing 81 levels of residential and serviced apartments.
EnduroShield was chosen to protect the 20,800 m2 of glass facade during the construction process against staining and etching from exposure to cement slurry, dirt and grime.
The application of EnduroShield is underway in the glass curtain wall factory after first receiving training, consultation and implementation of a quality assurance procedure. Having been certified, the factory is authorised to provide the EnduroShield 10 Year Warranty.
EnduroShield provides an ultra-thin, transparent coating that completely adheres to the glass surface.
During construction, Karimbla expects EnduroShield will protect against splatter and run off from concrete and cement, which if allowed to remain on the glass, can lead to etching and pitting from the lime reacting with the glass, necessitating the costly replacement of the glass.
When construction is complete, it is believed EnduroShield will allow the glass to be easily cleaned and reduce the chances of scratching from cleaning razor blades.
