A collaboration between Japanese and local architects has seen 18 new single and double-storey home designs.
The global builder Sekisui House and owners of AV Jennings Contract Homes have released the Aurora Collection.
According to Sekisui House, its approach has been to ‘strip back all preconceptions of the Australian home and re-think the most important aspects of design: lot orientation, sun direction, sustainability and style’.
Optimum Lot orientation is fundamental to the designs. The building designers made each house plan with a guide to assist the customer in selecting the design that is best suited for their land.
Another initiative is Rethink Green. This explains what it means to be green, what’s already included in the design, as well as additional green options that customers can invest in to reduce energy and water costs. Sekisui House believes that sustainability options included at construction stage ensure homes provide comfort year-round.
