Beaumont Tiles have revealed the top vanity and basin trends for 2012 with contemporary glass, and stone finishes being featured as the key materials.

Bathroom furniture, and in particular vanities, have been identified as setting the style for bathroom design and are increasingly featuring as the centrepiece of the bathroom with simple, lower profile basins replacing once trendy chunkier styles.

Darcy Shaw, National Bathroomware Buyer of Beaumont Tiles says “We are noticing that customers are choosing manufactured stone tops for vanities that harmonise with the colour palette of the bathroom and are starting to experiment with glass for the bowl of the basin rather than ceramic.”

Beaumont Tiles have also experienced a huge increase in demand for wall hung vanities. Double vanities up to 1.5 metres long have proven popular in Europe, featured at industry Fairs in Bologna, Italy and are set to hit Australia in early 2012.

Classic white porcelain chinaware will continue to remain a staple in bathroom design, however with the incoming trend of stone finishes and glass vessels, and the colour choices available in these materials, there are many more options available now to customers who are looking to inject a pop of colour into their bathroom.

“We’re starting to market innovations from overseas in Australia now, with soft close cupboards and drawers in bathrooms, and the introduction of technology cabinets with integrated iPod Docks and speakers. The bathroom is set to become a real relaxation zone in the house,” Mr Shaw says.
