Construction of Melbourne’s new marina and residential community, Wyndham Harbour, has commenced with the appointment of civil and marina contractor BMD Constructions for the multi-staged project.

BMD Constructions is one of Australia’s largest privately owned construction, consulting and urban development companies.

Wyndham Harbour Development director, Sonya Miller said: “Since bulk earthworks began earlier this year we are able to see the site take visual shape.

“Contouring of the land has paved the way for civil works and has given us an idea of what the development will look like once constructed.”

BMD Constructions executive director of Operations, Scott Power said the appointment is an excellent opportunity for the company and it will be BMD Constructions largest project delivered in Victoria in their 12 year history.

The project team will include Watsons Pty Ltd, Hyder Consulting, Coffey Geotechnics and Water Technology complemented by various other specialist consultants.

Once complete, the $440 million Wyndham Harbour project will bring a ‘world-class lifestyle

and boating hub’ offering a marina, safe boat harbour, luxury waterfront homes and apartments, new walking and bike trails, lush green parks, beaches and a vibrant central retail area to be known as ‘Marina Square’.
