Australasia's largest interior, architecture and design event, DesignEx, opened yesterday at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre.The expo is in it's 23 year will feature a range of suppliers Australia's top 20 emerging designers will be showcasing at the new feature event The Nest which is a space where they can present their work in a commercial context. The Authentic Design Alliance (ADA) will be at DesignEX 2012 promoting authentic design. The ADA is a not-for-profit group of companies and individuals and will work with A-CH Architects on informing visitors on the value of authenticity in design and the damaging impact of replicas on the design sector as a wholeAlso on the line up will be lectures on the 7 Kinds of Happiness: Conversations on Design and Emotion which is a series of physical and digital conversations curated by Office for Good Design. The keynote lecturer will be leading UK Design Critic & Journalist, Alice Rawsthorn (UK).There will also be panel discussions and a series of Skype interviews where each 'conversation' will explore how happiness impacts the practice of leading local and international designersVisitors will also have the chance to see the UK wallpaper brand, Cole & Son and Australian distributor Radford Furnishings collaboration with local installation experts, Wallpaper Express, to design a collection of wallpaper covered furniture. BPN along with Infolink and Architecture and Design are at stand 1111. Attendees are welcome to visit and pick up the latest copies of the magazines.The expo is on until 16 May.
