The Full Frontal Tile & Stone Expo (FFTSE) will be held at the Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre, August 20 to 22 and will feature a series of seminars designed to appeal to everyone from architects and interior designers to builders and renovators to importers, distributors and retailers of tile and stone products.

The world leader in tile design, Italy, is set to have a strong presence at the event with Luciano Galassini from Confindustria Ceramica, the association of Italian ceramic tile and refractory material manufacturers, presenting an overview on sustainability in the industry.

Also headlining FFTSE 2009 will be Professor Alessandro Tenaglia and Professor Giorgio Timellini of Centro Ceramico Bologna, the research and experimentation centre for Italy’s ceramic industry. Tenaglia will discuss the use of ceramic tiles from an environmental perspective, whilst Timellini will present an update on the development of new functional characteristics for ceramic tile surfaces.

Technical director of Inovatec Consultores Associados in Brazil, Jonas Medeiros will share his knowledge about designing and specifying adhesive fixed tiled facades for high rise buildings. Other visiting international experts include Laticrete International’s Glenn Prince, Thomas Kuntze of Ardex Germany, and Dale Kempster, technical director at Canada’s Schluter Systems.

Another confirmed speaker will be David Sharp, CEO of the Building Products Innovation Council, who will present on 'Life Cycle Inventory — the foundation stone for sustainable building'. This seminar will establish a new paradigm for design and procurement decisions when selecting building products and materials.
