The National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) has issued a reminder that information regarding the verification of laboratory accreditation for conducting a specific type of test can be sourced from the NATA website.
NATA is the authority responsible for the accreditation of laboratories, inspection bodies, calibration services, producers of certified reference materials and proficiency testing scheme providers throughout Australia.
NATA accredited facilities are strongly encouraged to promote their accreditation by issuing NATA endorsed reports and by using the NATA emblem. The NATA endorsement can only be used on reports issued by an accredited facility under the name in which it holds accreditation.
Using the NATA web site search function, it is possible to search for facilities by name, location or type of testing. It is also possible to identify all NATA-accredited laboratories in a particular area, or all those accredited in a specific field of testing, as well as the scope of testing for which each laboratory is accredited.
Testing activities not listed under the scope of accreditation are not NATA accredited and as such, are not covered by the NATA endorsement.
