The Euro-Collection Thermal Break windows and doors by EuropeanWindow Co. (EWC) were used to achieve the objective of keeping the external elements out while retaining the visual contact.
At the beginning of the Dinner Plain project in Victoria, the company reviewed the site location and configuration and position of each window module. It calculated and planned the installation of the thermal break frames and then negotiated the installation of the glass. EWC supplied and installed the windows, which allowed the homeowner to capitalise on the natural environment of the high plains.
Specifications for the project included:
- double glazed windows — 6 mm clear toughened / 14 mm air / 6 mm clear toughened and in the larger areas — 8 mm clear toughened / 14 mm air / 8 mm clear toughened. The units are filled with argon gas
- mMulti point locking systems have been used in the product for added safety, security and tighter seals
The project recently won an AWA award, with judges saying: “European Window Company’s Euro-Collection range provides well insulated windows and doors, a key factor in allowing this alpine residence to make the most of the beautiful outdoor winter scenery without compromising comfort inside the home. The Euro Collection features an aluminium thermal break system which uses reinforced polyamide bars inserted between the inside and outside aluminium profiles to provide maximum energy efficiency.”
