Impact Group has recently completed over 40 per cent of its 64 community housing projects under the Nation Building Economics Stimulus Package.
The company was appointed to complete 64 community housing projects as project managers for 42 developments and contract administrators for the remaining 22.
Project management services have been provided for 17 completed projects to date with the remaining 25 projects to be finalised by April, 2010. The 42 community housing projects will deliver a total of 293 dwellings worth $66.6 million.
Contract administration projects have a total worth of $34.1 million on completion and 36 per cent of these have been completed.
"With construction activity generally slow in the current economic climate, these projects generate substantial employment opportunities when they are most needed, as well as improving the living environment of community housing in New South Wales," says Wayne Golledge, managing director of Impact Group.
The projects are located across NSW in areas including Northern NSW, the Mid North Coast, Newcastle, the Central Coast and greater metropolitan Sydney.
Projects ranged from single level four bedroom adaptable dwellings to purpose-built adaptable dwellings designed to meet the requirements of special needs families. Others included conversions of existing bedsit units into one bedroom units, seniors living estates and large general housing developments.
