Wandoan’s new health care clinic will be built in record time, thanks to the innovative building technology developed by Gold Coast based construction company Pearls MiiHome.
The company expects to be able to complete the project in just six weeks, compared with six months using conventional construction methods and materials.
The health care clinic, to be located in the grounds of the Wandoan Hospital, will have four consultation rooms, a meeting room and waiting area and is anticipated for operation mid-2013.
The facility will be constructed using MiiPanels and the MiiHome Building System, a high tech system invented and internationally patented by Pearls MiiHome.
The system is an integrated steel panel with bonded structural core which contains gypsum, polymer beads, glass beads, resins, vermin proof agents and oxides that provide thermal, structural, acoustic, and fire resistant properties.
The steel panel faces have an interlocking structural joint for continuous floor and wall building systems, enabling Pearls MiiHome to produce robust buildings quickly and cost effectively.
Pearl MiiHome CEO Mark Winfield said that the use of the MiiPanel technology to build the clinic is another example of its adaptability and ability to be tailored to local conditions and remote locations.
“Our technology and rapid construction system means that almost anyone can build and assemble our buildings, whether they be for commercial use or residential occupation.
“It also means that a fast construction timeframe results in greater value for money and a much needed facility available quicker than would ordinarily be expected,” Mr Winfield said.
