The achievements of Victoria’s female construction workforce were honoured at the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Victoria and Tasmania Awards of Excellence this week in Melbourne.

The awards are held annually to recognise the significant contributions of women in the sector, and this year’s program attracted a record number of entries across the spectrum of the industry.

More than 600 guests from across the building and construction industry attended the awards night as Australian media personality Livinia Nixon hosted, welcoming individual award winners to share their stories.

Janet Holmes á Court Chairman of John Holland opened the evening with her inspirational story.

NAWIC Victoria and Tasmania Chapter President, Laurice Temple said: “I am extremely proud to represent this organisation that continues to help build the industry by attracting and retaining woman through such initiatives as holding these prestigious awards.
