A new social media site dedicated to the property industry aims to use social networking technology to solve issues facing housing consumers and industry-specific problems.
The site, Housenet.com.au, intends to deliver help to builders with online marketing and social media management, according to its founders.
It has been developed by CEO Darren Moffatt who has a banking background and web developer Ben Carew.
Moffatt said: “Our goal is to create a more social real estate experience for people, online. In addition to this, we’ve customised social networking technology to solve the big issues facing housing consumers and industry.
“A big problem for builders is communication with owners around projects. This can be a nightmare and produce endless emails. Our property page feature allows builders to manage each project in one central online location; they can upload photos, videos, documents and hold private discussions owners and stakeholders all on the page. It’s revolutionary,” he said.
Moffatt added that one of the key problems the website is trying to address is issues such as how to attract more online business, how to leverage off existing customer bases and how to manage social media.
The website will also include a property directory.
“Our Property People directory is pretty special; I’d encourage builders and tradies to join for that alone. Housenet has the unique ability to bring builders and their customers together like never before,” Moffatt said
The network is free to join and use.
