Co-founder of BioRegional and creator of One Planet Living, Pooran Desai will be touring Australia this May to promote the sustainable living accreditation system.
One Planet Living is a framework and program that aims to make sustainability easy, affordable and attractive for Communities, Councils and Companies. It is based on 10 principles, including: zero carbon, zero waste, sustainable transport, local and sustainable food, and health and happiness.
The system has been adopted across the world in Portugal, USA, China and by England for the London 2012 Games, the most sustainable Olympics to date.
Now, Melbourne’s WestWyck EcoVillage in Brunswick is set to be Australia’s first endorsed One Planet Community.
Desai will be hosting a number of free public lectures, interactive workshops and professional training courses in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth to discuss how he thinks One Planet Living can help communities, councils and companies create a world that is better for “people, planet and pocket.”
