The Australian Brick & Blocklaying Training Foundation (ABBTF) has produced a high quality DVD promoting the trade of bricklaying as a worthwhile career.

The DVD features apprentices, bricklayers, builders, employers and trainers relating their real life experiences in the trade.

"This is a "warts and all expose" of bricklaying as a career and the prospects for future advancement in the construction industry. It may not be a career for everybody but after watching it, you really know what it is all about," said Geoff Noble, ABBTF's general manager.

The DVD is based on extensive ABBTF research which highlights ten main benefits of a bricklaying career and reveals the main motivating factors for those who have taken up the trade.

"It will provide an ideal link to ABBTF's field programs including Step Out Programs in schools where students build a school project in brick under the guidance of an expert, pre-apprenticeship programs, and Careers Expos," Noble concluded.

The DVD can be viewed online at the ABBTF website, www.becomeabricklayer.com.au.
