PGH Bricks & Pavers has joined forces with students of product design and innovation, Enmore Design Centre, TAFE NSW.
15 final year design students are undertaking a project which will require them to conduct research on the useability of a variety of exterior spaces within the Enmore Design Centre.
This will involve looking into what the space looks like, the users of the space, furniture requirements for the space and identify areas for improvement. Students will then define the concept and development through addressing accessibility, activity/uses, comfort/image and sociability.
The project will include PGH Bricks into the design as an option. The project will then be put forward as a proposal to TAFE Sydney Institute for a college upgrade. Students will also be designing chairs, benches, recycling areas, shaded areas and lighting to go along with the campus upgrade.
The students are provided a colour and texture palette of 132 bricks to consider for their project.
Lauren Saltman, Marketing Product Manager, PGH Bricks & Pavers, said, “Joining forces with the Enmore Design Centre, TAFE NSW is a very exciting opportunity for PGH Bricks & Pavers to engage with the future of the design and building industry.
“The integration of bricks into this project will showcase the diversity of products, colours and textures within the PGH range and how these can be integrated into building and design in an innovative way. We see our products as more than just bricks and believe that through this, the thought leaders in design will showcase just how innovative the products and their uses can be.”
