Contracted and installed by Supreme Poultry House in Port Wakefield, Agricon Plus was specified in the 11 sheds for the purpose of housing birds which are to be later processed as chicken meat and sold to national supermarket and fast food chains.

CSR Bradford Insulation’s Agricon Plus is composed of a lightweight glasswool roofing blanket with Bradford Roof Tile Safety facing adhered to one side. Due to the highly corrosive nature of poultry sheds, Agricon Plus was specified as the insulation and will be able to survive the particularly harsh environment for up to 20 years.

Agricon Plus is suitable for agricultural or industrial buildings in climates that face extremely harsh conditions. Agricon is made with a 300 mm lap to ensure the insulation is properly covered. The facing is dark green in colour, an important factor when housing birds up to 12 weeks old to keep the light at a regulated lower intensity.

Each shed required around 2,800 sqm of Agricon for roof coverage and took around two days per shed to install. On completion of the project, 65 sheds will be installed with Agricon Plus. The project started in December 2007 and is expected to be completed by August 2011.
