Can you secret fix 130 mm Boral flooring?

Yes, as long as you follow the installation guidelines and understand the relationship between timber and its environment.

Will it work with the current Boral 130 mm profile?

Yes. Powernail secret nail guns are preset to the correct angle for secret nailing and work well with the current Boral 19mm solid flooring profiles.

What sizes does this installation method cover?

This system covers 108 mm and 130 mm wide boards.

Do you need to glue as well as nail?

Yes. Testing has shown that gluing and nailing gives a better result than nailing alone.

What nails should be used when secret fixing wide boards flooring?

Use 38 mm Powercleats when fixing to 15 mm plywood and 44 mm Powercleats for 19 mm particleboard or plywood. See the installation guidelines for details.

Does this installation method ensure that the flooring wont move?

No. Like all timber flooring, the conditions in which the product is installed will govern the potential for movement. The more stable the conditions the less likely the movement. Can anyone use this fixing procedure?

No. Secret fixing wide board flooring is not for the DIYer. Boral recommends that only competent timber flooring professionals should use this installation procedure. It is important that all installation conditions are taken into account and communicated to the consumer effectively.

Is this installation procedure limited to any particular species?

No. All Boral Timber species can be installed using this method.
