With the growing trend towards wide boards in both homes and commercial environments, Boral Timber has added a new width of board to its hardwood flooring range.

To complement the release of the 130 mm wide Uni-nail board from the Mountain Range, Boral Timber has introduced a new secret nailing installation process to the market, which prevents the visible appearance of nails on a floor’s surface and provides stability for wider boards.

The secret nailing procedure is designed for Boral Timber’s 108 mm and 130 mm Uni-nail hardwood flooring and uses a combination of cleats and full trowel adhesives to attach the boards to a ‘solid’ sheet subfloor.

Suitable subfloors which wide boards can be secret nailed to include 15 mm (or greater) Boral plywood and 19 mm (or greater) particleboard flooring. Each must have a moisture content within 2 per cent of the acclimatised timber flooring being installed.

The Mountain Range consists of a variety of hardwood timber species, including New England Oak, Messmate, Australian Beech, Stringybark and Flooded Gum. It is available in either a clean, low featured (classic) grade, moderately featured (Australiana) grade or a highly featured (Natural) grade.
