Newly founded BIM Consulting is the brainchild of Architectus managing directors Ray Brown and Mark Wilde.
It is an independent consultancy, which will provide expertise in Building Information Modelling technology and processes.
BIM is an exciting opportunity for change for the AEC sector, which will see an enhanced approach and increased efficiencies across the board.
BIM Consulting will service clients that own, build and manage commercial, industrial, government, and infrastructure assets. It is committed to helping clients save money and time, reduce risk, and improve quality through better access to real-time data with more effective communication and collaboration.
Stuart Bull steps in as managing director, previously at Arup where he was responsible for the local and global delivery of BIM value-add services, in addition to implementing high level collaboration and BIM project strategy with Arup’s management team.
“I’m looking forward to the exciting opportunities that an independent BIM consultancy can bring to the design, construction and asset operations marketplace utilising model enabled processes.
“With a team of specialists having an engineering, architectural, change management and financial background, BIM Consulting is uniquely placed to deliver a wide range of innovative and advisory solutions.”
BIM Consulting is about establishing the processes and protocols behind the delivery, for example building a new commercial high rise more efficiently.
Brown says, “BIM Consulting is the natural progression of the expertise developed through the utilisation of BIM on projects such as 1 Bligh St and the Melbourne Airport Expansion, and recognises the importance of BIM across the property industry.
“BIM Consulting fulfils the need for independent strategic advice throughout inception, design, construction and operations, and has the capacity and depth of experience for comprehensive implementation and delivery.”
Wilde added, “In order to fulfil growing global needs BIM Counsulting will be the first independent consultancy with the flexibility and ability to provide services nationally and internationally – this is truly exciting times for the AEC industry.”
