SkillsTech Australia recently hosted their third and final Open Day at the Bracken Ridge Training Centre to allow prospective apprentices to tour the facilities and talk to industry experts about the many career opportunities that can result from trade training.
“The open day featured Try’a Trade activities in the automotive, bicycles, electrical, carpentry, refrigeration and air conditioning trades highlighting what trade training is all about,” said SkillsTech Australia Chief Operating Officer Simon Pritchard.
A self-guided tour allowed visitors to explore the training centre at their own pace and find out more about trades they were interested, as well as discovering ones they might not have previously considered.
Information stalls from a range of companies including Manufacturing Skills Queensland, Central Queensland University, Busy at Work, Sarina Russo, Smart Employment Solutions, Master Builders, Total Tools, were present at the event.
“They provided useful information to potential apprentices and job seekers, with SkillsTech Australia staff and trade qualified teachers also on-hand to discuss course information and enrolment queries,” said Mr Pritchard.
