Leading residential developers and local councils have welcomed the Smarter Small Home just weeks after its debut to industry on April 1.

The two-storey, three bedroom display home which features new housing concepts was built inside an aircraft hangar in Brisbane to avoid lengthy delays getting plans approved through councils.

Some 12,000 home buyers have visited the Smarter Small Home website and a capacity crowd of 300 people are registered to inspect the architecturally designed home when it opens for the first time to the public on Saturday, April 18.
