The 2008 International Solar Cities Congress will be held February 17 to 21. A three day program is planned in association with a mayoral forum and field trips. The Congress is part of the International Solar Cities Initiative. The objectives of the International Solar Cities Initiative are to support UN energy and climate policies by stimulating the interest of cities into becoming benchmark cities which commit to ambitious emission reduction goals and help cities systematically integrate renewable energy and energy efficient technologies. The International Solar Cities Initiative has been formed to address climate change through effective measurable action at the urban community level. The conference program will feature over 90 speakers from 30 countries. Sharing information on market responses to creative policy will be a highlight of the program.
