Suncorp Place has won the Cbus Commercial Project of the Year category for the 2008 GreenPlumbers Awards.

Located in George Street, Sydney, as a result of Suncorp Place’s Aerocycle Greywater Treatment Project, the building will reuse 84,000 litres of treated greywater daily for toilet flushing.

The building’s gymnasium greywater is treated through the Aerocycle treatment system, processing up to 4,000 litres per hour. Total potable water consumption will decreased by 30 million litres a year, representing a saving of $98,000 to the owner.

Davey Water Products’ Aquashield Max was also awarded a GreenPlumbers award in the Innovative, Energy and Water Efficient Product of the Year categories.

Aquashield Max is an automatic water treatment package for the pressure boosting and disinfection of rainwater, especially where conserved and stored rainwater is to be used as a potable drinking water supply.

It is also suitable for bacteria and algal control for aquaculture projects or water features as well as treating bore or surface water supply sources.
