Sydney Flooring has introduced secret nailing for wide boards, which reduces the visible appearance of nail heads on a floor’s surface and provides stability for wider boards.

The secret nailing procedure gives added stability to the wider boards and is designed for board widths of 108 mm and 130 mm hardwood flooring and uses a combination of staples/nails and full trowel adhesive to attach the boards to a solid sheet subfloor.

The wide boards can be secret nailed onto 15 mm (or thicker) plywood and 19 mm (or thicker) particleboard flooring and each must have a moisture content within 2 per cent of the timber flooring being installed.

The wide boards come in a variety of hardwood species, including Blackbutt, Blue Gum, Brushbox, Spotted Gum and Stringybark, and is available in either a low featured (select) grade, moderately featured (Australiana) grade or highly featured (natural) grade.

Sydney Flooring sources its flooring timber from Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) certified forests in North Eastern NSW.
