Sydney Metro has announced that some of Sydney's top architecture and design practitioners will participate in Station Design Principles Workshops to help design the Pyrmont and Rozelle metro stations.

Architectural firms that will have representatives at the workshops include Tonkin Zulaikha Greer, FJMT, JMD Design and McGregor Coxall.

Representatives will form three design teams and, according to a Sydney Metro spokesperson, "The first of two workshops, [held on 27 October] will bring together the design teams with around 40 peak, professional and community groups to develop a brief from which the teams will design three different visions for the stations."

The teams will have until 10 November to prepare drawings which will be shown and discussed at the second workshop.

"Rozelle and Pyrmont are village-like locations and there is strong interest in how the stations will fit into the streetscape. It is important to ensure that the design takes into account the community's vision and the workshops will result in a clear direction for the contractors," the spokesperson says.
