The Property Industry Foundation (PIF) is hoping to raise over $250,000 for homeless children from this year’s National Hard Hat Day on Friday, June 18.

National Hard Hat Day encourages the property industry to donate at least an hour’s pay to children’s charity. Donations are taken throughout the months of May and June, with June 18 marked as a 'campaign day'.

Proceeds from National Hard Hat Day will be donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society in Dee Why and the Sir David Martin Foundation for NSW and Open Family Australia for Victora.

Last year’s National Hard Hat Day funded a $130,000 building project at The Salvation Army’s Oasis Centre in Surry Hills to refurbish the crisis centre and training rooms.

Brookfield Multiplex and its subcontractors who donated labour and materials played an integral role in delivering the works, representing a saving over $70,000.

Since PIF’s inception in 1996, more than $12 million has been raised for a range of PIF approved charities through its core fundraising activities.

Any businesses wishing to take part in National Hard Hat Day can contact PIF on 02 9241 6000.
