The plate is constructed from high strength, thick Lexan sheeting, which is cut, bent and slotted to enable it to slide with the concertina action of the trellis doors.
A layer of 3M black vinyl film is applied to the Lexan to block out external visibility of the handle position situated on the inside of the plate.
